When May Breast Reduction Help Neck, Shoulder, or Skin Symptoms?

Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty, removes breast tissue and skin and reshapes what remains so the breast sits in better proportion for that person. The nipple and areola are usually repositioned. The aim can be relief of physical symptoms, easier clothing and activity, or both.

It is different from a breast lift, which reshapes and raises the breast with less change in volume, and from implant surgery, which adds volume. Examination decides which description fits.
